Tara McLellan, Family Nurse Practitioner/ Functional Medicine Practitioner

   Tara was raised in Mobile, Alabama. She received her bachelor's in biomedical engineering at Tulane University and then a master’s in nursing from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Tara has been a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner for over fifteen years and was also an instructor for the Master's of Science in Nursing program at the University of South Alabama. She practiced in two of the largest community health centers on the Gulf Coast, prior to starting her own practice .   She completed her certification to become a functional medicine provider through the Institute for Functional Medicine.  

   She enjoys spending time with her patients and truly listening to their needs to co-create their path to healing. 

 She believes that the functional medicine model can bring true wellness, which  involves not only the body, but also the mind and soul. 

  Tara lives in Fairhope, Alabama with her two dogs and three finicky cats. In her spare time she enjoys participating in triathlons (from sprint to Ironman distances), playing the piano, foraging for local herbs, and gardening (though this is a work in progress).
